Portraits are taken by professional photographer and mom of four, Kathy Locke, at her studio 148 N. Merchant St.,downtown Decatur, Illinois.
Child’s Play Photography is Kathy’s life inspiration, and her passion is preserving the memories of little everyday pleasures of those we treasure. From newborns to seniors, Kathy delights in photographing her subjects in their natural spirit.
She does not believe in making children sit still, turn at the shoulders and tilt their heads when posing for a portrait. Instead, she encourages them to do what they enjoy doing to bring out their true personalities as she captures the special moments that define the individual child. Likewise, Kathy adores working with high school seniors to select unique locations and settings that highlight their individual personalities and interests.
Kathy was originally trained in black and white film photography, and appreciates the fine art quality of classic black and white portraits. Yet she is drawn to the vibrant splashes of color or subtle hues that highlight her clients’ personalities. With high tech digital equipment and the development of superior professional photo papers, Kathy is able to capture both color and black and white images at the highest standard.
