Kooper, Class of 2019

We couldn’t be more proud of Kooper!! He has made the most of his high school wrestling career, and all his hard work has paid off because he will be wrestling next year at Purdue University. He was the ESPN Decatur ESPY Award Wrestler of the Year, and the Herald and Review newspaper Wrestler of the Year. In his Junior Year he placed 4th in the 2A IHSA State tournament with a record of 43-2. Then in his senior year he topped that with 3rd place in the State tournament with a record 45-2. WOW! But he’s not just a one sport athlete. He plays baseball for Mt. Zion High School and the Decatur Commodores. He’s an all-around athlete! I also know he’s an all-around nice and humble guy. He fit in our photo session between busy practices, and was happy to do whatever his awesome mom and I had planned. He’s also a gentleman and made sure to say a smiling “Thank you” when we finished. I know his mama and papa are very proud. Good luck Koop!!
