Mara is the girl I wish I was in high school. She’s got it all together. She’s very smart, hard working, confident, involved, compassionate, worldly, sophisticated, fun and funny. Everything she takes on she does well, with committment and conviction: She’s a 4.0 all four years of high school, NHS, four years varsity tennis qualifying for state all four years, mvp tennis player her freshman year, VP of medics, SADD and chair of Red Rowdies (MTZ student fans club). But what I admire most about Mara is what matters to her most: her family. I asked her if she wanted to incorporate any of her extra-curriculars or interests in her senior session, and she said her family is really her favorite “activity.” sniff, sniff. She loves to spend time with her brothers and sister. Makes me teary eyed to think of that good-bye next fall when Mara heads off to Purdue University. There’s no doubt with her intelligence and work ethic, fun personality and very solid family foundation that Mara will do great things at Purdue and in this world. Good luck Mara. We are all going to miss you.
