I have many of the same interests/loves as Nick – upland game hunting, English Setters, fishing and hockey. I guess I’m just a spectator and fan of all these sports (except that I am a proud angler). Nick is a major participant! He has played hockey since he was four, and I can remember watching him skate around the ice as a Pee Wee and his dad sitting on the bench coaching. He played a mean and great hockey game for Decatur Flames for thirteen years. He also has hunted for pheasant and quail with his dad and bird dogs from a very young age. His list of the variety of species in a variety of location of his fishing adventures makes me jealous. One word that describes Nick: Outdoorsman. It’s only fitting that we had to do his senior photos in the great outdoors. His family has an amazing farm that is any outdoor explorer’s or photographer’s dream. Nick was in his element and happy to show me many of his favorite spots. It’s no surprise that Nick is headed to a state known for its’ beautiful outdoors, attending University of Oregon. Just like the early explorers seeking their own dynasty, “Go West Young Man” is an appropriate phrase describing this next chapter for Nick. I forgot to mention that Nick and I have another similar affection – that is for his mom. When I get together with her, we get off on a million tangents, and could talk for hours. I just love the last photo of Nick and his mom – they have the best relationship. She’s going to miss him. Good Luck Nick! Go Ducks!
