I have to say this was one of my favorite senior sessions because we decided from the beginning we were “all in.” Steph, her mom and I collaborated on a variety of ideas, and went to great length to make them happen, having a blast all along the way. And what I learned is that is Steph 100%. This girl does not do anything half way – she’s all in. Academically she is super star graduating Summa Cum Laude from Mt. Zion HS, an Illinois State Scholar, and a member of NHS after being inducted as a Sophomore. Steph not only lettered in two sports, but both were super successful programs. Mt. Zion Ladies Braves Softball went to state in 3A both her sophomore and junior year. On top of that Stephany tied in ’18 (and still holds) the current 3A state record for most runs-batted-in in a single game at 6 RBIs with a grand slam homerun driving in 4 of those!! Breaks my heart that this team did not have an opportunity to take the title this year due to the cancelled season. Sigh. Steph also was a setter for Mount Zion’s Varsity Volleyball team this year, and was honored as Illinois player of the week by the Max Preps/AVCA. For her senior season, she logged 804 assists for an average of 10.3 assists per set, good enough to make her 4thin class 3A statewide! After reading all that, I am sure you agree that she’s always 100% all in. But what you can’t see, and if you know her you will also agree, is that she is 100% humble. When I asked her to give me some of her accomplishments and honors, she wrote about two sentences. Haha. I am super excited to see what great things she will do next. She’s headed to Illinois State to the Mennonite School of Nursing. (And rooming with another one of my favorite seniors, Emma Ewing!). Good luck Stephany!!!
